FINISHED!!!

I finally finished up a few projects in the garage today.
I am listing them on Craig's List because my garage is getting full :)

Here are 4 solid wood chairs I bought at an auction.  They were a mess and very dirty.
I sanded, primed, painted and put new fabric on the chair seats.

Here is a fantastic solid maple table I also bought at the auction.
I stripped and stained the top and painted the base.
The top was a mess but it cleaned up very well!

I love how it came out - it's SOLD too!!!

Here is a vintage maple side table - also purchased at an auction.
The table was in great condition and very solid but there were a few marks on top.
I stripped and stained the top and painted and distressed the bottom!!

This table is FOR SALE  - $75

That's all for now!

Making Progress

I have been spending lots of time in the garage these last few days.  We are experiencing absolutely beautiful weather - perfect for stripping, sanding, staining and painting!  Nothing is finished but here are a few photos.

                                                            After stripping and sanding!

Painted and Stained ready for Finish

This table was a mess but I am very excited about the progress I am making.  I took the table apart and then stripped, sanded and stained the top.  I used a mixture of special walnut and gray stain trying for a weathered look - what do you think!  So far I have only primed the bottom but I can picture it with a crisp white bottom and the weather gray, brown top :)

Just to refresh your memory here is the BEFORE - the table was a mess!

Top stained and ready for finish!

My First Online Auction Purchases - Before

This week I won a few items on an online auction - I now have plenty of work!!
I thought I would take the before pictures right away so I don't forget.

This is a maple side table in excellent condition.  The table is very sturdy and the wood is in great shape just a few marks to the top.  I haven't decided how to refinish it yet.

This next item is an art deco style table with a built in center leaf.  It is a light veneer with red painted accents.  The table top needs some work.  I will probably end up painting it because the veneer is pealing from water damage.  The chairs are sturdy but in need of a GOOD cleaning and paint.  The ugly, cracked vinyl seats need to be recovered too.  I think I will do this in a fun color and fabric!

The next item is a very cute maple table with two drop down and under leaves on each side.  Again in very good condition as far as being sturdy but it needs refinished!!

More Office Storage

After finishing the desk and liking it so much I wanted to have a matching dresser in the office for extra storage. I found this cute little maple dresser on Craig's List and refinished it to match the desk.

A Desk Transformed

I picked up this old teacher's style desk on Craig's List. It was oak veneer, very sturdy and heavy with lots of space for all my office stuff! I stripped it, stained the top and painted the bottom black. The new satin nickel hardware, to replace the old wooden handles, makes the desk rival anything I have seen in the Pottery Barn catalog for just a fraction of the cost. I LOVE IT!!!
