I finally finished up a few projects in the garage today.
I am listing them on Craig's List because my garage is getting full :)
Here are 4 solid wood chairs I bought at an auction. They were a mess and very dirty.
I sanded, primed, painted and put new fabric on the chair seats.
Here is a fantastic solid maple table I also bought at the auction.
I stripped and stained the top and painted the base.
The top was a mess but it cleaned up very well!
I love how it came out - it's SOLD too!!!
Here is a vintage maple side table - also purchased at an auction.
The table was in great condition and very solid but there were a few marks on top.
I stripped and stained the top and painted and distressed the bottom!!
This table is FOR SALE - $75
That's all for now!
YOU are amazing!!!
ReplyDeletegretchen!! You did such a great job. I might have a buyer for you if you havent sold it already. - Cheryl Harder

ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn!
DeleteWow - I needed an idea for my auction found dining set. Was your table top solid wood too? Because mine is mdf with a veneer but I wondered if I sanded carefully, if I could restain.... Yours turned out so beautifully! You've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ally - I recently refinished a table that was veneer and it turned out great. If the table is in good shape it can be done! If the veneer isn't in good shape you might be able to paint it and get the same look. Good Luck!
DeleteI am planning to do something similar with a table and chairs I have. What kind and color of paint did you use? Did you spray it or brush it? The whole thing is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! I sanded the bottom of the table and chairs, then primed with BIN Shellac based Ultimate Stain Blocker. I then hand painted 2 coats of Behr semi-gloss paint in Sherwinn Williams Moderne White #SW6168. I chose that color because it went well with the fabric. The top of the table was stripped using Citristrip then after lots of sanding I stained with Minwax Specail Walnut and coated with 3 coats of Minwax Polycrylic. Good Luck with your table!
DeleteWhat a unique table. I love it! I have to say the finish on top looks like store quality professionally done. Flawless. Thanks for mentioning the products you used and the
ReplyDeleteWay you did it. I will have to give that a try on my next project to see if it makes a difference.
